I've never quite understood humanity's obsession with humorous pictures of cats, but I do find it interesting that this phenomenon pre-dates the internet by almost a hundred years. Srsly?
P.S. - the article doesn't mention that it wasn't only Harry Whittier Frees who was on this bandwagon, but also other photographers such as Harry Pointer and Walter Potter (both circa late 1800s).
